Silver Creek
Preserve Events, 2009
Silver Creek
is one of the best examples of a high desert, cold spring ecosystem in
the western United States. Water from the Big Wood River and other
sources seeps underground and moves through an aquifer until it reaches
the Picabo Hills visible to the south of the Visitor Center. Then the
water rises up through numerous springs and forms the waters of Silver
Creek and its tributaries. Come visit this unique landscape, take a
walk, go fishing, or watch the birds. The Preserve is open all year,
please sign in at the visitor center prior to entering the Preserve and
observe all rules. The Nature Conservancy is a non profit conservation
organization and relies entirely on donations to protect and preserve
special places throughout Idaho and the world.
