Silver Creek Visitation Summary 2008

We had a very busy year at Silver Creek Preserve this year!

 We had visitors from every state as well as international visitors from: Argentina, Chile, Antarctica, UK, Italy, France, Canada, Mexico, the Bahamas, Japan, Spain, New Zealand, and Australia.   

We had kids from Bellevue, Hailey, and Hemingway elementary, and the Community School.  Students also came from the Wood River middle school, University of Idaho, and the College of Southern Idaho. 

 Total visitor numbers were as follows:

Total people visiting the preserve from January 1, 2008- December 31, 2008:          7, 211

Percentage of visitors that are guides and clients:                                                      16%

Percentage of visitors that are members:                                                                   30% (33% in 2007)

Percentage of visitors that are from out of state:                                                        44% (53% in 2007)

            Anglers            81%

            Birders             4%

            Hikers              6%

            Canoers           1.5%

            Hunters           2.5%

 

Summer Months (May 24th- August 30):

Average daily visitors: 47

Busiest Day: June 2 (89 visitors) followed by June 8 (85 visitors)

Percentage of fishermen during summer: 91%

From Lost River Outfitters: 14%

From Ketchum on the Fly or Bill Mason: 5%

From Idaho Angling Services: 8%

From Sturtovants: 7%
